St. Francis Soup Kitchen - Services

Clothes Closet. Now Closed.

At 7:00am on the 1st and 3rd Saturday of each month, fifty men's and fifteen women's Clothes Closet tickets were distributed to guests. Volunteers helped these guests between 8am and 9:45 with a change of clothing and miscellaneous items.

Breakfast. Last meal is December 28th.

At 7am each Saturday, a small breakfast was served to dozens of people, many of whom have spent the night outside our facility.

Lunch.  Last meal is December 28th.

Starting at 10am, guests were invited into our dining room for lunch where they were seated and served by our volunteers. A typical meal included a salad, side, main course, dessert, and coffee. We also provided hundreds of loaves of bread, rolls, bagels, and other baked goods. Occasionally we had a paperback book or a pair of reading glasses available.

Canned Goods Give-away.  Discontinued.

Each Saturday, starting at 10am, we supplied 100 grocery bags filled with about a dozen canned goods. Bags were offered on request on a first-come, first-served basis. These goods were provided through a USDA/TFAP Commodities Food program managed by Farm Share.

Volunteers from St. Francis Soup Kitchen coordinated the canned goods pick-up and re-distribution. Our guests completed paperwork necessary to receive the donation.
